Food Recovery Underway at Arkansas Tech

Arkansas Tech University students are working each evening to recover food to assist those who are food insecure in the River Valley.

The university received a grant from The Campus Kitchens Project to establish the food recovery program on campus.

For the program, students recover food that can no longer be served, package the items and deliver it to one of several area non-profit organizations the following morning.

Since its inception at the start of the year, the program has helped provide more than 1,000 pounds of food to those in need in the area.
