Wonder Boys Perform Well in Las Vegas

Steady improvement over the course of the 54-hole event characterized the Arkansas Tech University men’s golf team’s fourth-place finish among a field of 18 teams at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on Monday and Tuesday.

The Wonder Boys posted team scores of 298-296-294 for a total of 888, which was just two strokes behind runner-up Oklahoma Christian University. The University of West Florida ran away with the team title by accumulating a 54-hole team total of 6-under par 858.

Tech’s Putter Srinoon finished tied for fifth in the individual standings. He shot 74-71-71 for an even par total of 216 and was subsequently named Great American Conference men’s golf player of the week.

Jackson Marseilles (T-14th, 73-77-72-222), Luke Cornett (T-27th, 76-74-76-226), Kellen Gray (T-32nd, 77-74-76-227) and Ryan Spurlock (T-32nd, 75-77-75-227) also represented the Wonder Boys in Las Vegas.

Arkansas Tech will host the Dave Falconer Classic on Monday, March 12, and Tuesday, March 13, at Chamberlyne Country Club in Danville.
