Arkansas Tech University posted a 54-hole team score of 882 to finish fourth among a field of 20 men’s golf teams at the Holiday Inn Express Classic at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo., on Monday and Tuesday.
Luke Cornett was the Wonder Boys’ top individual finisher. He fired rounds of 70-73-74 for a 4-over par total of 217 and sole possession of sixth place in the final standings.
Shawn Tsai (T-7th, 73-72-73-218), Putter Srinoon (T-30th, 74-73-77-224), Jackson Marseilles (T-55th, 76-77-77-230) and Ryan Spurlock (T-60th, 71-75-85-231) also competed for Arkansas Tech in St. Joseph.
Only eight strokes separated first from fifth place in the final team standings. Tournament host Missouri Western State University and Harding University finished tied for first place with matching totals of 878. Harding won a sudden death playoff to claim the title.
The Wonder Boys will conclude the fall portion of their 2017-18 golf schedule by participating in the TVA Credit Union Classic on Monday, Oct. 16 and Tuesday, Oct. 17, in Florence, Ala.
