The University of Arkansas-Monticello took 2-of-3 games from Arkansas Tech University in a Great American Conference baseball series at Monticello on Friday and Saturday.
The Wonder Boys (26-16 overall, 20-7 GAC) are scheduled to face nationally fourth-ranked Southern Arkansas University for a 2 p.m. non-conference game in Magnolia on Tuesday, April 18.

Game One: Tech 2, UAM 0
Kyle Wilson pitched his third complete-game shutout of the 2017 season to lead Arkansas Tech to a 2-0 victory over UA-Monticello in the series opener on Friday.
Wilson (6-0) required 109 pitches to hold the Boll Weevils scoreless on two hits over nine innings. He recorded eight strikeouts.
Dylan McDearmon scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch in the third inning, and he drove in the other run on a fifth-inning single.
Game Two: UAM 3, Tech 1
Guy Halbert drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the fifth inning and UA-Monticello went on to a 3-1 win against Arkansas Tech in Friday’s nightcap.
Andres Rios added an RBI single later in the fifth inning to set what proved to be the final score.
UAM relief pitchers Landon McFadden and Dawson Moser combined to record the final six outs. Moser was credited with his fifth save of 2017.
Kris Brown (4-3) earned the win on the mound by pitching the first five innings for the Boll Weevils.
ATU starting pitcher Trent Armstrong (4-3) went the distance, limiting UAM to three runs on six hits while striking out seven.
Game Three: UAM 3, Tech 1
Braden Chambers’ complete-game pitching performance carried UA-Monticello to a 3-1 victory in the rubber match of the three-game series on Saturday.
Chambers (6-2) held the Wonder Boys to one run on three hits over nine innings.
The fifth inning was once again the difference. An RBI single by Nick Piraino and a sacrifice fly by Brian Ray allowed the Boll Weevils to break what had been a 1-1 tie.
