Wilson Named GAC Co-Pitcher of the Week

Arkansas Tech University’s Kyle Wilson has earned his third Great American Conference baseball pitcher of the week award this season.

A right-handed junior from Flagstaff, Ariz., Wilson was named GAC co-pitcher of the week on Monday, April 17, in recognition of his performance against the University of Arkansas-Monticello on Friday, April 14.

Wilson (6-0) pitched his third complete-game shutout of the 2017 season to lead Arkansas Tech to a 2-0 victory over the Boll Weevils. He required 109 pitches to hold UAM scoreless on two hits over nine innings. He recorded eight strikeouts.

The April 17 GAC baseball pitcher of the week honor was split between Wilson and Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Brandon Wolski.

The Wonder Boys (26-16 overall, 20-7 GAC) are scheduled to face nationally fourth-ranked Southern Arkansas University for a 2 p.m. non-conference game in Magnolia on Tuesday, April 18.
