Suns Tie Their Longest Win Streak Ever

Arkansas Tech University earned its 26th consecutive volleyball victory by defeating Southern Nazarene University 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-14 in Great American Conference action at Bethany, Okla., on Friday.

The string of 26 consecutive wins matches the longest such streak in Golden Suns’ history. The 2000 ATU volleyball team set the record by winning 26 consecutive matches from Sept. 12, 2000, through Nov. 11, 2000.

Hunter Eshnaur made 16 kills for Tech on Friday, her highest single-match output in that category since registering a season-high 17 kills against Washburn University in the season opener on Sept. 1.

Lexie Johnston added 13 kills and Allie Anderson made 12 kills for the nationally 14th-ranked Golden Suns (26-0 overall, 10-0 GAC).

ATU’s Amanda Milnick collected 42 assists and 12 digs for her ninth double-double of 2017.

The Golden Suns will attempt to set a new program record for longest winning streak when they visit Central Baptist College for a 6 p.m. non-conference match in Conway on Monday, Oct. 23.
