Reddies Earn Series Win Over Wonder Boys

A five-run outburst by Henderson State University in the fourth inning of the rubber match allowed the Reddies to take a 2-of-3 games series victory over Arkansas Tech University in Great American Conference baseball at Tech Field in Russellville on Sunday and Monday.

The Wonder Boys (14-9 overall, 10-2 GAC) will travel to Bethany, Okla., for a three-game GAC series against Southern Nazarene University on Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.

Hayden Lessenberry went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in and Dylan McCain drove in three runs to lift Henderson State to a 7-6 win in game one of the series on Sunday.

Game Two: Tech 1, HSU 0

Jackson Hollinshead’s walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th inning drove in Cody Wescott with the game’s only run in a 1-0 Arkansas Tech triumph on Sunday night.

Game Three: HSU 7, Tech 4

Nine Henderson State batters recorded one base hit apiece during a 7-4 Reddies’ victory in the series finale on Monday.
