Nine Up, Nine Down for Undefeated Suns

Arkansas Tech University’s undefeated volleyball tour of Mid-America continued on Friday and Saturday with three straight sets wins at the Towneplace Suites Invitational in Joplin, Mo.

The Golden Suns (9-0) will begin Great American Conference play on Tuesday, Sept. 12, with a 6 p.m. match against Southern Arkansas University at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center in Magnolia.

Tech 3, Chadron State 0

A nearly flawless offensive attack catapulted Arkansas Tech to a 25-12, 25-12, 25-12 victory over Chadron State College on Friday.

The Golden Suns finished with a team hitting percentage of .551 (45 kills, 2 attack errors, 78 total attempts).

Hunter Eshnaur made 11 kills, Amanda Milnick distributed 26 assists and Madison Nagel had 13 digs.

Tech 3, Maryville 0

Arkansas Tech kept its offensive efficiency at a high level while defeating Maryville University 25-18, 25-15, 25-16 on Saturday.

Tech amassed 40 kills and 11 attack errors in 84 total attempts for a .345 team hitting percentage.

Eshnaur (10 kills), Milnick (24 assists) and Nagel (14 digs) led the way again.

Tech 3, Missouri Southern 0

The beat went on Saturday in Arkansas Tech’s 25-17, 25-21, 25-18 win over invitational host Missouri Southern State University.

The Golden Suns had a team hitting percentage of .500 (53 kills, 8 attack errors, 90 total attempts) against the Lions.

Eshnaur had 14 kills, while Lexie Johnston added 12 kills and Tabitha Spray notched 10 kills. Milnick made 41 assists.
