Milnick Earns 3rd Straight GAC Weekly Award

The Great American Conference has presented three setter of the week awards during the 2017 volleyball season, and all three belong to Arkansas Tech University’s Amanda Milnick.

The sophomore from Tahlequah, Okla., became just the third student-athlete in the seven-year history of the league to win three consecutive GAC setter of the week awards when the conference honored her on Monday, Sept. 18.

Milnick was named most valuable player during the 2017 Holiday Inn Express Golden Suns Spikefest, which was played Thursday through Saturday at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.

Her play helped the Golden Suns improve to 14-0 on the season and earn the first NCAA Division II national ranking in the history of the ATU volleyball program.

For the week, Milnick compiled 33 kills, 184 assists and 56 digs.

Arkansas Tech will host Harding University (12-1) for a 6 p.m. GAC match at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Tuesday, Sept. 19. Admission will be free and live coverage will be available on www.arkansastechsports.com.
