Golden Suns Topple No. 15 UCM Jennies

Arkansas Tech University earned its second win over a nationally-ranked volleyball opponent this season on Thursday night.

ATU outlasted No. 15 University of Central Missouri 25-15, 18-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10 on day one of the Holiday Inn Express Golden Suns Spikefest at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.

The Golden Suns (11-0) were nearly flawless at crunch time, making nine kills against one attack error on 16 attempts in the decisive fifth set.

Hunter Eshnaur and Lexie Johnston notched 14 kills apiece to lead a balanced Arkansas Tech attack. Amanda Milnick had a triple double with 11 kills, 44 assists and 15 digs, while Allie Anderson and Tabitha Spray added 10 kills apiece.

Madison Nagel led the Golden Suns’ back row defense with 22 digs. Meredith Darnell contributed 14 digs.

Arkansas Tech will face St. Edward’s University at 11 a.m. and Christian Brothers University at 5 p.m. during day two of the Holiday Inn Express Golden Suns Spikefest on Friday.
