Golden Suns Roll Past Hilltoppers, Lady Bucs

Arkansas Tech University dispatched a pair of volleyball opponents in straight sets on Friday during day two of the 2017 Holiday Inn Express Golden Suns Spikefest at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.

The Golden Suns (13-0) will host the University of Alabama-Huntsville for an 11 a.m. match on the final day of the classic on Saturday.

ATU 3, St. Edward’s 0

Arkansas Tech limited St. Edward’s University to a negative team hitting percentage in a 25-18, 25-13, 25-14 Golden Suns’ victory on Friday.

The Hilltoppers made 23 kills and 24 attack errors in 111 total attempts for a minus-.009 team hitting percentage. ATU hit .257 (46 kills, 18 errors, 109 attempts).

Tabitha Spray had 13 kills and Allie Anderson made 12 kills for the Golden Suns, while Amanda Milnick notched 34 assists and Madison Nagel contributed 19 digs.

Arkansas Tech continued its season-opening winning streak by steamrolling Christian Brothers University 25-16, 25-16, 25-13 on Friday evening.

Lexie Johnston (10 kills), Milnick (30 assists) and Nagel (17 digs) were among the Golden Suns’ statistical leaders.
