Golden Suns Golf Finishes T-3rd in Oklahoma

Three final-round scores below 80 helped the Arkansas Tech University women’s golf team earn a share of third place among 16 teams at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational in Edmond, Okla., on Monday and Tuesday.

The Golden Suns returned team scores of 323 on Monday and 313 on Tuesday. Their final-round score was the best in the field.

Avery Struck (T-9th, 78-78-156) was Tech’s top individual finisher. Pia Nunbhakdi (T-12th, 81-77-158), Peerada Piddon (T-14th, 81-78-159), Allie Weiner (T-26th, 83-80-163) and Holly Standing (T-59th, 84-87-171) also contributed to the Suns’ team score.

Arkansas Tech’s Hanna Haltom (T-19th, 84-77-161) and Makenzie Douglas (T-50th, 82-87-169) competed as individuals.

Henderson State University won the team title with a 36-hole total of 622.

The Golden Suns will participate in the Midwestern State University Invitational at Wichita Falls, Texas, on Monday, March 12, and Tuesday, March 13.
