Tech Open House Set for Saturday

Area high school students and other individuals interested in learning more about Arkansas Tech University are invited to the 19th annual Tech Open House on Saturday at the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center in Russellville.

Hosted by the Office of Admissions, the Tech Open House will run from 10 a.m. – noon.

Representatives from every degree program offered at Tech will be available to answer questions and speak with prospective students. Additionally, personnel from academic advising, admissions, financial aid, residence life and university honors will also be on hand to speak to students.

Throughout the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to take a tour of campus. Campus tours will depart from the library every 15 minutes.

“One of the strengths of Arkansas Tech is our wide variety of academic programs and campus life opportunities,” said Shauna Donnell, director of admissions and associate vice president for enrollment management. “Tech Open House provides high school students and students who are considering a transfer with a chance to learn about all that our university has to offer and receive one-on-one answers to all of their questions about Arkansas Tech.”

Prospective students who attend Tech Open House will receive complimentary tickets to see the Homecoming football game between Arkansas Tech and Ouachita Baptist University at 3 p.m. that afternoon at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field.

The door prize for the Tech Open House is a fall 2016 tuition scholarship to Arkansas Tech. The scholarship winner will be announced at halftime of the Tech-OBU game. Prospective students must be present at the football game in order to be eligible for the scholarship door prize.
