Tech Alumna Selected to Perform in NYC

Arkansas Tech University alumna Keely Futterer has been chosen as part of the cast for a performance of “The Life and Death(s) of Alan Turing” at the Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center in New York City.

The show will take place on Jan. 12, 2017. It is presented by American Lyric Theater in partnership with MasterVoices.

A 2011 graduate of Arkansas Tech, Futterer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music with an emphasis in vocal performance.

She was selected to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges” following an undergraduate career that included varied performances in the instrumental music, choral music and theater programs at Arkansas Tech.

Futterer earned multiple awards through National Association of Teachers of Singing vocal competition while at Arkansas Tech. She was selected to the 2010 American Choral Directors Association Collegiate Honor Choir in Denver, Colo.

A doctoral student at the Eastman School of Music, Futterer took second place at the Friends of Eastman Opera Competition and was a finalist for the Jesse Kneisel Lieder Competition at Eastman. Her work with the Opera Saratoga’s Young Artist program afforded her the opportunity to sing the role of the witch mother in the American premiere of “The Witches of Venice” by Philip Glass.
