Recognize the Class of 2013

Members of the Arkansas Tech University family can show support for those students graduating next week.

The Office of University relations has created a commemorative image to recognize students in the Class of 2013.

The image (shown left) has been placed on the Arkansas Tech University Facebook page.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university are invited to use the image as their Facebook profile picture in honor of the Arkansas Tech Class of 2013.

SAB to Present Movies Tuesday

Arkansas Tech University students will be able to take a break from studying as the Student Activities Board hosts two movies Tuesday afternoon.

The movie “Identity Thief” will take place at 3 p.m., and “Silver Linings Playbook” will be offered at 6 p.m.

Both movies will be shown in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building Lecture Hall.

Students attending the movies will also receive a free finals goodie bag from the Student Activities Board.

The movies and the finals bags are free to students with a valid Arkansas Tech I.D.

Across Campus: Preparing for Finals

Students on the Arkansas Tech University campus are hard at work preparing for final exams.  In this week’s Across Campus segment, students sound off about how they’re prepping for the upcoming tests.

Students Focus on Finals

Students at Arkansas Tech University are hard at work Tuesday preparing for final examinations during Reading Day at Arkansas Tech.

Final exams begin Tuesday evening and run through Tuesday, May 7.  Access the final exam schedule.

Throughout finals, members of the Arkansas Tech University Alumni Association will provide complimentary breakfast to students.

In order to grant students additional study time, the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center has also announced it will offer extended hours for students.  View the extended hours.

ASBTDC Announces May Seminars

Small businesses will have several opportunities to take part in training sessions offered by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center throughout the month of May.

The seminars will cover several topics including business strategies and how to market a business in a tough economy.

The regional office of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is housed at Arkansas Tech, and it is designed to assist new, existing and expanding businesses by offering a variety of services including consulting, training, and market research.

The following seminars will be offered in May:

  • Website in a Day (Hands on) — Thursday, May 2 from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Paris First National Bank Community Center.  Speaker: Ronda Hawkins, ASBTDC.  Cost is Free.
  • Introduction to QuickBooks (Hands on)  — Wednesday, May 8 from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 308. Speaker: Ronda Hawkins, ASBTDC.  Cost is $65.
  • Restaurant 101 — Wednesday, May 22 from 1 – 5 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133.  Speaker: Steve Lucchi, SCORE.  Cost is $40.
  • Creating a Business Plan (Webinar) — Thursday, May 23 from 10 – 11 a.m. Speaker is Nathan George, ASBTDC.  Cost is Free.
  • SBA Loan Lunch & Learn Workshop — Thursday, May 30 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Fianna Hills Country Club in Fort Smith. Speaker is Johnna Bach, SBA.  Cost is Free.
