Campus Closed July 4

Arkansas Tech University is closed Monday, July 4, in observance of the Independence holiday.

The campus will re-open and classes will resume on Tuesday, July 5.

Young Alumni Gathering at Fast Lanes Entertainment

The Alumni Office has announced an afternoon of bowling for young alumni at Fast Lane Entertainment in Lowell.

Young alumni in the area are invited to gather on Saturday, August 6 from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Friends and children are welcome to join in the fun. Prizes will be awarded to top bowlers at the end of the games.

Appetizers will be provided in the event room at Fast Lane and several “Tech Lanes” will be reserved.

Golden Suns Host Lil Suns Basketball Camp

 

The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team is hosting a camp for girls in kindergarten through fourth grade this week.

It is not too late to register, as pre-registration is not required and walk-up campers are accepted.

This camp will provide female players the opportunity to receive instruction from players and coaches of the 2010 and 2011 Gulf South Conference Champion team.

Registration begins Wednesday at 8 a.m. The camp ends with the awards ceremony on Friday at noon.

Cost of camp is $30 and does not include meals. All campers will receive a t-shirt.

The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns basketball team is hosting a skills camp for girls in fifth through twelfth grades this week.

It is not too late to register, as pre-registration is not required and walk-up campers are accepted.

The individual camp will provide female players the opportunity to receive instruction from players and coaches of the 2010 and 2011 Gulf South Conference Champion team.

Registration begins Wednesday, July 6 at 1 p.m. The camp ends with the awards ceremony on Friday, July 8 at 3 p.m.

Cost of camp is $195 for overnight campers, $160 for commuters with meals or $120 for commuters without meals. All campers will receive a t-shirt.

Deadline to Drop Classes Approaching

Students enrolled in classes in the first summer term have through tomorrow if they need to drop a class with a “W” or change from credit to audit.

Summer one classes will run through Friday, July 8.  Students taking classes during the second summer term will begin taking classes on Monday, July 11.

Late registration for Summer II is Monday, July 11 and Tuesday, July 12. July 12 is also the last day to officially withdraw from classes, add or drop courses or change sections with full reduction of tuition and fees.

Following the second summer term, commencement is scheduled for Saturday, August 13, and all students who have completed their graduation requirements during the summer term will be recognized.
